KKCenterHK Water Decal Review

Hello everyone :)
Today I have another review for KKCenterHK nail art water decals. This time when I was contacted by the company I choose some super cute water decals with cats on! Here's the link to them: http://www.kkcenterhk.com/p5209/N.NAIL-Water-Decals-Nail-Art-WDBLE927/product_info.html

I decided to use them with a complimentary colour that matched the decals...
For these nails I used one coat of OPI Pink Flamenco as the base colour. This pink is super bright and such a beautiful colour for summer, and with it only taking one coat what's not to love about it? :P I then used one coat of OPI I Lily Love You over the top. This glitter/flakie polish was what started my polish obsession, it was my first OPI polish and I instantly fell in love :)
The water decals are so simple and easy to apply to the nail. The decals come in one sheet, the sheet contains twenty decals and they are priced at $2.82, which obviously is a great price. I cut out the decal I wanted to use from the sheet and removed the plastic from the top, I then run some water over the decal for a few seconds. This allows the decal to slide away from the backing and then I place it onto my nail in the required position and seal with topcoat. the whole process takes about thirty seconds. These decals are great to spice up a regular mani or just to use if you want something quick and easy.

KKCenterHK offer a wide variety of nail art products as well as fake eyelashes and other stuff, check out their website, it's amazing! Also, don't forget about the 10% off discount code if you order, just enter: charlottes-nails at the checkout :)

Lazy Days of Summer Challenge - Inspired By Your Favorite Towel

Hello everyone :)
Today I have another post for you from the Lazy Days of Summer challenge. The theme for this post was inspired by your favorite towel, I had several ideas for this theme but in the end I decided to go with a towel that I've had my eye on for a while..

I love the patterns in this towel so I decided to take some of the patterns and recreate them on my nails :)
For these nails I used two coats of H&M Berry Love for the base on the red nails and one coat of Revlon Lunar on the black accent nail. The patterns were created using black acrylic paints. I picked out the patterns that appealed to me most, I really wanted to use the swallow but I failed when I tried to paint it. This is why I have the accent nail :P
I'm actually really pleased with how these turned out, although I wish I hadn't added the black dots. The nail art looked a lot cleaner and less cluttered without them. I might have to do these nails again without the dots to show you all :P

Do you have a favorite beach towel? Would you match your nails to it? Let me know in the comments :)

Pedicure Time Featuring My Mum

Hello everyone :)
Today I have a new kind of post for you all. My mum works in  factory and operates machines, I always want to paint her nails but they chip after a day and she wont let me change them that often :P So we came to a compromise a while ago that I could paint her toenails every week instead, she wears flip flops quite often so people always notice when her toes are pretty :) I thought that I'd start sharing her pedicures with you all as we decide on some quite nice nail art together. It's a great bonding experience too :) So here's this weeks nails...
Please ignore my mums gross looking feet, she's just got in from work and wouldn't let me do anything with them before taking the photos :p Anyway, my mum told me she wanted red, white and blue nails and then let me run wild with what kind of nail art I wanted to do. So I decided on a jelly sandwich with an accent on the big toe nail.
I used three coats of China Glaze Ride The Waves for the blue nails, two coats of H&M Berry Love on the red toes and two coats of OPI Alpine Snow on the white toes as the base colours. I then applied one thick coat of Milani Gems on each nail. I then layered Ride The Waves over the top of the blue nails, OPI Big Hair...Big Nails over the red nails and OPI Don't Touch My Tutu over the white nails to create the jelly sandwich. I then created the cloud accent nail using one coat of Alpine Snow and one coat of H&M Berry Love.

I honestly love how these turned out and so does my mu, she is always amazed at the ideas I come up with and is genuinely pleased everytime I paint her toes. She likes to show them off to her friends at work and tell me about all the comments she gets :P

Do you paint the nails of your friends and family? Let me know in the comments :)

Summer Fun Challenge - Fun In The Sun

Hello everyone! :)
Today I have my final post from the Summer Fun Challenge. I was going to post this yesterday but the nails I did were pretty rubbish. I felt really uninspired and couldn't really think of anything to do, so I put off posting it and then an idea hit me this morning! So when I think of summer, one of the first things that comes to mind for me is nautical themed things. So what better thing to put on my nails :P
I decided to use typical red, white and blue colours for these nails. With the trademark nautical stripes and an anchor as an accent nail.
I used two coats of H&M Berry Love as the base on the red nails and three coats of China Glaze Ride The Waves on the blue nails. I wanted to use jelly polishes and do a simple jelly sandwich to go underneath the stripes. I layered one coat of Barielle Starry Sky over all nails. I then added one more coat of Ride The Waves over the blue nails and two coats of OPI Big Hair...Big Nails over the red nails. I used Barielle Platinum Ring to create the anchor and white acrylic paint for the stripes.
I'm so happy with how these turned out! I'm so glad I waited to post because these nails are so much better than yesterdays :P I love how the glitter looks buried underneath the jelly polishes, it gives the nail art some depth and it's so beautiful in real life! Unfortunatley we're still lacking any summer sun at all in England so these nails look a little bit out of place :P

Summer Fun Challenge - Summer Stylin'

Hello everyone :)
Sorry about the lack of posts in the last few days, I've had a pretty rough weekend and didn;t really feel up to posting. You'll probably be able to tell when you see the nails I've done for this post. This is the second to last post in the Summer Fun Challenge. The theme was Summer Stylin' and I was drawing a complete blank, I didn;t feel inspired by anything I was thinking of so I left for a few days. However it didn't get better...
I decided that I would base my nails on what I thought of when I think of summer clothes. One of my earliest memories is of a lady I saw on Holiday once. We went to a party type thing at night time and she was really dressed up in a beautiful blue dress that was covered in glitter. it was beautiful and that dress always come to mind when summer time rolls around. So I based my nails on that dress :)
For these nails I used my two most recently purchased polishes. The base on all nails is three coats of China Glaze Ride The Waves; which I have fallen in love with! It applied beautifully and I can;t wait to use this for some more jelly sandwich nails soon! :) I then layered one thick coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust on the top.
I really love how pretty and sprakly these nails are. I wish I could have come up with something more interesting for you all to read, I have something great lined up for the last Summer Fun post though, so keep an eye out for that tomorrow!

Lazy Days of Summer Challenge - Flip Flops

Hello everyone! :)
I really struggled with what to do for today's theme, which is Flip Flops. The only thing I could think of was painting the v shape of the flip flop on my nails, but I thought that was way too boring. After thinking for a while I came up with something that I feel is creative enough and I actually really enjoyed painting this design on my nails.
So I went with the idea of feet and flip flops. I honestly thought this would turn out terrible when I planned it out in my head but I think it turned out okay! :)
To create these nails I used 3 coats of China Glaze Pool Party for the base on all of my nails. I then used black acrylic paint to create the shape of the feet and toes. I added two coats of Sally Hansen Iced Coffee on top of the acrylic paint to create a skin tone shade. I then used another coat of Pool Party to create the strap of the flip flop and added dots of Barielle Platinum Ring to give it some extra sparkle :P I even painted the toe nails on the feet with Color Club Almost Famous. Wooo, that's a whole lot of polish! :P
I based these nails around my mother, believe it or not. In the summer my mum always wears flip flops, she has so many pairs it is ridiculous! I modeled the flip flops on my nails around one of her favorite pairs. Needless to say she was very impressed and now wants some of these nails doing for herself :P

Have you ever done flip flops nails? Let me know in the comments :)

Lazy Days of Summer Challenge - Flag Day

Hello everyone!
I'm so excited for the post I have for today, I've been planning it for a while. Originally I wanted to do something to tie in with the 4th of July but I thought everyone would do that and seeing as I'm from the UK I thought I'd use flag day to showcase my country :) Then I thought, maybe I should do the flag of the country I go on holiday to seeing as its a summer challenge but then I went back to my second idea :P Rambling over and onto the nails...
I decided that I would use the Union Jack for my nails and then create an accent nail with glitter. I originally was going to use Barry M Red Glitter for my accent nail then I forget to use it when I painted my base colour on :P
I used two coats of Color Club Cold Metal for the base on all of my nails. I love this polish so much, it applies like butter and gives great colour pay off, if you're careful you could get away with one coat! I then used acrylic paints to create the rest of the flag. I used one thick coat of China Glaze Love, Marilyn for the accent nail on my ring finger.
I'm so pleased with how these turned out! I tried to do nails like these for the Queens Diamond Jubilee but I failed at them so bad, the lines were wonky and it just looked awful! However, I bought myself some nice new nail art brushes and they helped me so much!
What flag would you have done for this theme? Let me know in the comments :)

Summer Fun Challenge - The Big Blue

Hello everyone :)
I have some more nail art for you today for the Summer Fun Challenge, based on The Big Blue! As soon as I saw this theme I  had an idea for what I wanted to do and thankfully it turned out exactly as I wanted it to, so here it is...
Oh Hey, it's an octopus! With a smiley face!! ;)  Isn't he awesome? I was originally going to do a variety of sea creatures but I've always been a big fan of octopi so I thought this would be a good chance to use an octopus in my nail art :)
I used two coats of Jesse's Girl Girls Night Out for the base of all of my nails. I then used acrylic paints to create the octopus and his tentacles. I then dabbed on one coat of Wet N Wild Hallucinate for the sparkles in the background :)
I love these nails so much! I am never taking them off! Okay, maybe that's a lie but still.. they're just so cute! I've had a few people comment on them already, which makes me happy :) What do you guys think?

Have you done any nail art based on sea creatures? Let me know in the comments :)

Summer Fun Challenge - Are We There Yet?

Hello everyone :)
Today I have another post for you from the Summer Fun Challenge. Today's theme is Are we There Yet? When I think of this phrase it makes me think of road trips and maps, so I thought I'd base my nail art around these ideas. Here's what I came up with..
I decided that I wanted my nail art to look like a map, with a journey laid out on it. This theme was a lot harder than the others, there's only so much I could think of that fit in with the theme and I didn't really feel motivated for this post. I did my nails twice but this was the one I was most happy with.
For these nails I used OPI Ogre The Top Blue on all my nails as base. I then sponged OPI Don't Mess With OPI onto the tips of my nails in a random pattern to look like the border of land near the sea. I then sponged OPI Who the Shrek Are You? over the top to give the "map" some more depth. I then added the lines using my Models Own Nail Art Pen in Black.

I'm happy with how these came out but I've been stuck on this theme for a few days and in the end just wanted to get it out of the way, I'm sorry that I'm lagging behind the others who are taking part, I'm trying to catch up slowly :P

Nails From Last Night

Hello everyone :)
Just a quick post from me today on my nails from last night. I went out with my group of friends as it was one of their birthdays! So obviously I had to match my nails to my outfit. Here's what my nails looked like...
For these nails I used two coats of OPI Pink Friday and topped them off with one thick layer of Rainbow Honey's A Little Kindness. I thought these nails looked gorgeous and all my friends commented on how cute they thought A Little Kindness was :)

Now here's a photo of my outfit to show how my nails matched. I'm the blonde! :P

Sorry for the short and sweet post, I have some awesome posts lined up for this weekend though :)

Superhero Challenge - Ultimate Hero

Hello everyone!
Today I have the last post of the superhero challenge! I'm so sad, I love this challenge so much. Hopefully I'll be invited to join in more challenges like this in the future. The ladies who have taken part with me are all so awesome and their nail art is amazing!! Anyway, I've known for a few weeks what I was going to attempt for this final theme in the challenge. As my villain was based on a childhood cartoon, I wanted my hero to be based on one too and there could only be one trio that it could be...

The powerpuff girls!! They were my ultimate heroes when I was younger, I loved them so much and I watched the programme all the time! I could never quite decide who I liked more though, Bubbles or Blossom :P Here's how I interpreted the girls in my nail art...
I wanted to use each of the girls faces on a nail and then I added a heart on my little finger, not only to show my love for them :P But also because at the end of the show there was a glowing heart type of thing and it reminded me of that :P
I used so many different coloured polishes and paints for these nails. The base for the faces is Sally Hansen Iced Coffee. The base on my little finger is OPI Pink Friday. I used Color Club Almost Famous for Bubbles' hair, and OPI What's With The Cattitude? for her eyes. I used OPI In MY Back Pocket for Blossoms hair and OPI Pink Friday for her eyes. For Buttercups eyes I used Color Club Twiggie. The rest of the colours used are acrylic paints.
I love these nails! When I started this challenge I didn't think I'd be very good compared to the other ladies taking part but I feel like I've come a long way since the start of the challenge. I'm so proud of the things I've created and I will definitely do more challenges like this in the future as they inspire me to try new things :)
I hope you've all enjoyed my posts from the Superhero Challenge :)
