Born Pretty Store Review Part 2

Hello everyone,
Today I have part 2 of my Born Pretty Store review for you all. Again I was supplied with the polish in this post for my honest review.

Onto the pictures...

For these nails I used three coats of OPI Play The Peonies as the base colour, as the polish I'm reviewing is very sheer. I'd defintly class it as a glow in the dark topcoat. it's also tinted pink so gave the base colour more warmth which I really like. It also dried to a semi-matte finish which I loved! You can add a topcoat to create a glossier look if you'd prefer :)
This polish again, has a number rather than a name. It would make life so much easier if it had a proper name but oh well :P I used three coats of this polish over Play The Peonies to create a nice pink colour. The polish applied really well and is a nice consistency to work with, the smell is rather weird though :P I then held my nails up to a light for about 30 seconds to "charge" the polish...
This is the best picture I could could get of the polish glowing but it was much brighter in real life. I really love glow in the dark polishes and this one is no exception. There are many on the market so you can always find something that takes your fancy :)

Also remember you can use the code "CLL91" to get 10% off your order at Born Pretty Store

Superhero Challenge - DC Villain

Hello everyone :)
Today I have the next post of the Superhero Challenge! For this post I had to pick a DC Villain, I've really been struggling with this one since last week. I'd pick someone then realize I couldn't come up with a good design for them so I'd change my mind several times :P Today I finally settled on a character...
This is White Rabbit. She's one of the new 52 DC Villains and you can read more about her here - http://www.ugo.com/the-goods/dc-new-52-villains
I chose her as I love her costume (pink! and a bunny!) And I knew I'd be able to do a design for her that would look good :) So here are my nails...
These nails are again inspired by White Rabbits costume.
Fore finger: Her ears and hair (the hair is awful! I apologize)
Middle finger: her mask
Ring finger: her corset
Little finger: her shorts and tail
For the base of my nails I used OPI Play The Peonies. A beautiful pale pink that I don't use often. However, when I do I always think why don't I use this..It's gorgeous! I used Jesses Girl Cupcake Frosting as the base on my little finger, this pink is also gorgeous and it's the first time I've used it. I then used OPI Alpine Snow for all the white and my Models Own Nail Art Pen in Black for the lines.
Overall, I'm pleased with how these came out but if I'd found a character sooner I would have planned better, therefore they would have turned out better :P But I like them anyway :P While I was waiting for them to dry a girl knocked on the front door and she asked me what they were so I spent a while explaining them to her, she really liked them :) That made my day a little bit, I love talking about nails to people :P

Have you ever heard of the White Rabbit? Who's your favourite DC Villain? Let me know in the comments :)
Keep an eye out for a new challenge I'm starting tomorrow too!
Thanks for reading :)

Cloud Nails

hello everyone :)
Today I have a new mani for you all to feast your eyes on. I've loved the "cloud" style manis i've seen on nailsides blog, and I always said I'd give it a go and never got around to it. well I finally did and I absolutely love how it turned out! Take a look...

I used 2 coats of OPI Play The Peonies as the base colour. I then used 1 coat of OPI Pink Friday to create the first cloud shape and then topped this off with 1 coat of OPI Super bass Shatter to create the final cloud shape.
Here's a closer image so you can really see the different colours I used. I liked using the two subtle pinks together and then adding a deeper pop of colour with the purple shatter, I think the colours work really well together. I also think this picture shows how well my photography is progressing, leave a comment telling me what you think and maybe some tips to help me improve even more? :)
To create the cloud shapes I let a drop of polish collect at the tip of the brush and used that to create the rounded end of the cloud shape, then repeated 3 times on each nail. The shatter was harder to do as I had to be really careful not to overlap strokes or I ended up with darker patches or less crackle etc :P Overall, I really enjoyed this mani, everything about it made me smile. a lot of my friends at uni had never seen anything like this before so I had to explain several times how to do it :P I will try this mani again soon but with different colour schemes.
I'll be putting the 52 week challenge post up tomorrow :)
Thanks for reading and feel free to comment on anything about this mani or my photo skills :)
