Birthday Nails!

Hello everyone :)
Today I have some birthday nails to show you! It was my boyfriends 20th birthday on Friday so I thought I'd do some themed nails for the occasion :P I've done cupcakes before so I wanted to do something a bit different so here's what happened...
I made my nails with icing drips! :P How cute are these?
I used two coats of Rimmel Peppermint for the base of all of my nails. I then added the "icing" drips using a polish I frankened myself :) It's a white jelly with multi coloured glitter. I then topped the icing with OPI Don;t Touch My Tutu, to give it more depth. For the accent nail I applied Technic Carnival, a dupe for OPI Rainbow Connection, over my base colour and then applied once coat of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu.
My boyfriend loved these :) I think he was quite surprised I based my nails around his birthday to be honest :P My son also enjoyed them and told me straight away that they were cakes :P These are super cute and perfect for a less subtle birthday mani :P I will definitely be playing with this idea again before my own birthday :P

What birthday inspired nails are your favourite? Let me know in the comments :)
Keep an eye out for my 350 follower giveaway being posted later too!

Superhero Challenge - Marvel Hero!

Hello everyone :)
Today I have my next Superhero Challenge post! This time I'm showing you some nail art inspired by a Marvel Comics Hero! Again, like the last post, I didn't want to do a common hero so I went and looked at some less well known heroes that Marvel have created and came across this guy...

Captain Britain! I thought he was very fitting for this challenge seeing as we're all British ladies taking part in this challenge....
So I decided that for this challenge I wanted to have my nails all the same so I took my inspiration from Captain Britain's outfit.
For these nails I used Color Club Cold Metal for the base, OPI Alpine Snow for the base of the cross and then China Glaze Poinsettia over the top of the white. I've never used Cold Metal before and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the application was, if I was careful I could have gotten away with one coat! I used two coats of each polish in this nail art.
I'm really pleased with how these turned out. I know my lines aren't perfectly straight but they're better than they would have been a few weeks ago :P Unfortunately nobody knew they were based on a superhero until I told them :P Although people enjoyed learning all about Captain Britain :P (He was intended to be the British version of Captain America!)

Wednesday Wants

Hello everyone :)
Here's my second post of Wednesday Wants! Lots of polish in this weeks list ;)

1. China Glaze On Safari Collection. There are only a few colours that i actually want from this collection (I'm Not Lion, I Herd That, Desert Sun and Exotic Encounters) but I love the whole theme and idea of this collection. It makes me think of wild animals, including leopards which are my favourite! Definitely going to pick some of these up soon :)

2. OPI Black Spotted: I caved in and bought this last night :P I needed it in my life. I don;t use crackle/shatter polish much anymore but I love the effect that this gives and it sucks that it's only available in France. However, Sephora in France  ship to the UK so I ordered it last night :P

flash Orly Presents...Flash Glam FX & Magnetic FX Collections

3. Orly Flash Glam FX. I need all of these in my life! Unfortunately Orly polishes are really hard to get hold of in the UK and also very expensive when you can get hold of them :( These polishes are beautiful and it makes me sad to think that I might not be able to get my hands on them :(

That's all for this weeks wants :P
Keep an eye out tomorrow for my next Superhero Challenge post, it's going to be awesome!
Also, keep an eye out tomorrow or Friday for my 350 Follower Giveaway!

Superheros Challenge!

Hello everyone!
Today I have the first post of the new Superhero Challenge! I'll be posting twice a week for this challenge, there will be a villains post on Tuesdays and a Hero's post on Thursdays :) This challenge was created by Jo from Northern Nails and she kindly invited me to take part. This challenge is right up my street and I was so excited to be asked to be a part of it :) So here's what the challenge posts will be...
So for today's post I have a Marvel Villain!
It took me a while to choose as I didn't realize just how many characters there are :P Finally I settled on one I liked the look of and knew I could create something unique from it on my nails.
I chose Dormammu! here's the pictures I used for inspiration...
He's one scary guy to look at! Which is one of the reasons I chose him. Look at his fire face! Anyway, onto the nails...

First I'll explain the inspiration for each nail.
My thumb was inspired by the blue ball of light you can see on one of the pictures in Dormammu's hand.
My index finger was inspired by the cloud rising from Dormammu's head in one picture.
My middle finger was inspired by his fire face.
My ring finger was inspired by his clothing
My little finger was inspired by the fire that is always present around him.
Here's a clearer picture (I forgot the new watermark on this picture! :( ) and a list of the polishes I used.
thumb: OPI Alpine Snow, OPI What's With The Cattitude? and Models Own Indian Ocean
Index finger: Color Club Almost Famous, OPI In My Back Pocket and Revlon Lunar
Middle finger: Color Club Almost Famous and Revlon Lunar
Ring finger: H&M Berry Love, Revlon Lunar and Models Own Nail Art Pen in Black
Little finger: H&M Berry Love, OPI In My Back Pocket and Color Club Almost Famous.
Wow, that's a lot of polish!!
Overall, I'm very pleased with how this turned out! I thought it was going to be a disaster because the characters are so in depth and have so much detail but I had a lot of fun trying to translate the essence of Dormammu onto my nails :P
I can't wait for the Hero post on Thursday now!

Also, check out the other girls who are taking part in this challenge along with me to create the Super Six!

Updated Stash Pictures!

Hello everyone :)
Today I have a relatively short post for you as I'm starting a new challenge with some amazing ladies tomorrow!! So keep an eye out for that because it's going to be amazing! Anyway, for today's post I thought I'd show you some updated stash pictures as I've had my helmer for a while now so my organization is better :P And I've acquired a lot of polish since the last stash post I did :P So here's my stash...
Here's my helmer! I keep it inside my wardrobe as my room is only small and I share it with my 2 year old son. Therefore, I hide it away as he calls my polish "Mummy's sparklies" and I have nightmares that he'll get hold of my bottles and they'll all get smashed, so it's hidden out of his way :P
So this is my first drawer, my collection of OPI takes over most of this drawer :P Followed by Models Own, Nail Inc, Accessorize, Essence Twins and some random Wet N Wild's.
My second drawer holds my China Glaze, Sinful Colors, Finger Paints, Revlon, Sally Hansen, NOPI, Rimell and other polishes that I only have one or two of.
My third drawer holds my Collecion 2000, Essie, Zoya, Jesses Girl, Barry M, Color Club, Frankens/Indies and random polishes that don't fit anywhere else :P

I have two other drawers in my Helmer dedicated to holding my brushes, nail art things, stamping plates and treatments. I also have more polish on the way... :/ I think I have a problem... :P

Be sure to check out my new challenge post tomorrow!

Jelly Sandwich

Hello everyone :)
After browsing through posts on blogs last night I came across a jelly sandwich that I'd been dying to try for ages. The end result of this particular jelly sandwich makes me think of Oreo's and biscuits in general :P I needed to do this mani now! So here's what I did...
For these nails I used 3 coats of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu on all nails as a base and 2 coats of OPI Barre My Soul as a base on my ring finger. I then added a coat of Lynnderella Connect The Dots over the top following by two more coats of the base polish.
You can't really tell that I used a different colour polish on my ring finger but in real life it is quite obvious and Barre My Soul makes my ring finger look like a biscuit to me :P I'm really pleased with how this turned out, I've wanted to try it for quite a while but never found the time because something else was more important :P I will definitely try this again with different coloured jelly polishes.

Have you tried a jelly sandwich mani before? What jelly's and glitters did you use? let me know in the comments :)

Also, keep an eye out for a nail mail post soon ;) And a giveaway at 350 followers, I'm so close!! :P

KKCenterHK Nail Decal Review

Hello everyone :)
Today I have a review for you all! A little while ago I was contacted by Maggie from KKCenterHK asking me if I'd like to review some of their products. obviously I jumped at the chance and went searching for a product :) I finally settled on some Water Decals and of course they had to be Hello Kitty! Here's the link if you'd like to purchase these stickers: http://www.kkcenterhk.com/Nail-Water-Decals-Cartoon/c106_146/p6207/N.NAIL-Hello-Kitty-Water-Decals-Nail-Art-WDSY207/product_info.html

Here's how they came to me...
The above picture shows the sticker sheet after I'd cut some out, I was so excited! :P This sheet contained 24 stickers of Hello Kitty in different poses etc. they are so cute! I decided to choose a coordinating colour for my nails and painted them purple...
I used three coats of Ciate Purple Sherbet as my base for all nails except my ring finger which I used China Glaze Octa Gone Wild.
I cut out the stickers I wanted to use after I'd painted my nails and removed the top plastic sheet tha covered them. After this I ran them under some water and left them alone for a few seconds. They then would be easy to remove from the backing paper, I picked it up with my finger and positioned the sticker onto my nail easily and then added top coat to secure the sticker.
These Water Decals are seriously the easiest things ever to apply, they took me around 30 seconds to remove the top sheet, wet and apply to my nail. I'm so impressed by the quality of them and will definitely be buying more in different designs. I highly recommend that if you want quality water decal stickers in many designs to check out KKCenterHK :)

Have you tried any water decals before? Did you find them easy to apply? let me know in the comments :)

Wednesday Wants!

Hello everyone :)
I'm going to be starting a new feature on my blog on Wednesdays. I browse a lot of blogs in my free time, mostly blogs about nails, make up and clothes :P So I thought It'd be nice for me to round up all the things that I want each week from seeing blogs or websites etc. So without further ado... My first Wednesday Wants list!

1. The Nails Inc. Sprinkles Collection - These are absolutely gorgeous and I need all of them! At £11 each they're not cheap but they are so beautiful I know I'll end up forking out for them. Each polish has a jelly like base and different coloured glitters suspended within it. I'm going shopping tomorrow so I hope to pick one up. Which one though!? :P
2.    These shorts are from Topshop but any high waisted denim shorts will do :P I want a plain pair so that I can stud them with some studs I've bought from eBay. Studded shorts look amazing but cost a fortune, so it's cheaper to stud them yourself. Plus I love getting crafty with clothes :P

3. OPI Nothin' Mousie Bout It - I need this in my life! I love heart glitters, even though most of them are a pain to apply. They just draw me in and make me need them :P I will definitely be picking this up at some point in the future!

4. Nail Tek Foundation II Base Coat - I've heard nothing but good things about this base coat and after my Nail Envy has ran out I will be picking this up to try :) Has anyone else used this? Let me know in the comments what you thought of it :)

Do you need or want any of the items on my list? :P Let me know in the comments :)
Thanks for reading :)

Splatter Mani

Hello everyone :)
Today I have another splatter mani for you! For these nails I used neon colours as I had a new color club set that I wanted to try out and I was very pleased with the results...
For these nails I used 3 coats of OPI Alpine Snow as a base. I then splattered each nail using a straw and Color Club Almost Famous, Wham! Pow!, Poptastic, Twiggie and Pucci-licious from the Poptastic collection. These colours are so bright! I love how vibrant they are, I had several people comment on them and ask me how I achieved the look and no one could believe I'd used a straw :P The colours were also perfect application wise, I'm so glad I picked this set up!
I got smaller straws to do this mani as my last splatter mani looked a bit bare as the splatters came out larger. I much prefer the look of this mani, it's so bright and colourful! I can't wait to try this again with different colours, I think pastel colours would look great in a splatter mani too! :)

I hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend and the Jubilee for all my fellow UK followers :) Look out for some special Jubilee themed nails in the next few days :P

Thanks for reading :)
