Lazy Days of Summer Challenge - Dotting Tool Summer Fun

Hello everyone!
As promised, here's another post from the Lazy Days of Summer Challenge! Apparently the Autumn Challenge will be starting on the 1st of September so I need to get the rest for this challenge finished off, so I may post more than once on some days :P Anyway, the theme for this post was dotting tool summer fun. My first thought was to do more flowers with a dotting tool but I wanted to try something I haven't done before. So I decided to do a ruffle mani!
I didn't want these nails to be too in your face so I only did ruffles as an accent nail, I also only used two different colours but I really love how it looks.
For these nails I used two coats of China Glaze Grape Juice. This is a new polish I bought last week and I absolutly love it. I don't own too many purples and this has beautiful shimmer running all the way through it. It also applied like a dream so naturally it's become a new favorite :P I then used OPI Rumples Wiggin' and China Glaze Octa Gone Wild and a large dotting tool to create the ruffles on my ring finger.
I'm really pleased with how this turned out. However, I think next time I try a ruffle mani I'll use more than two colours for the ruffles, I feel like it isn't as obvious as I'd like. I think this is a good way to wear the ruffle mani without making it too obvious, maybe a work appropriate look? Now, I want to try this out with nude polish!! :P

KKCenterHK Nail Decal Review

Hello everyone :)
Today I have a review for you all! A little while ago I was contacted by Maggie from KKCenterHK asking me if I'd like to review some of their products. obviously I jumped at the chance and went searching for a product :) I finally settled on some Water Decals and of course they had to be Hello Kitty! Here's the link if you'd like to purchase these stickers: http://www.kkcenterhk.com/Nail-Water-Decals-Cartoon/c106_146/p6207/N.NAIL-Hello-Kitty-Water-Decals-Nail-Art-WDSY207/product_info.html

Here's how they came to me...
The above picture shows the sticker sheet after I'd cut some out, I was so excited! :P This sheet contained 24 stickers of Hello Kitty in different poses etc. they are so cute! I decided to choose a coordinating colour for my nails and painted them purple...
I used three coats of Ciate Purple Sherbet as my base for all nails except my ring finger which I used China Glaze Octa Gone Wild.
I cut out the stickers I wanted to use after I'd painted my nails and removed the top plastic sheet tha covered them. After this I ran them under some water and left them alone for a few seconds. They then would be easy to remove from the backing paper, I picked it up with my finger and positioned the sticker onto my nail easily and then added top coat to secure the sticker.
These Water Decals are seriously the easiest things ever to apply, they took me around 30 seconds to remove the top sheet, wet and apply to my nail. I'm so impressed by the quality of them and will definitely be buying more in different designs. I highly recommend that if you want quality water decal stickers in many designs to check out KKCenterHK :)

Have you tried any water decals before? Did you find them easy to apply? let me know in the comments :)

April Showers Challenge - May Flowers

Hello everyone :)
Today I have one of the last April Showers Challenge posts for you all! I'll be finishing this challenge off this week and hopefully be moving onto a new challenge soon, I have lots of new things lined up for you all so keep an eye out ;p
Anyway, this challenge was May Flowers and I've been thinking about it for some time. I didn't want to try and recreate a flower on my nails as I know it would look awful :P So I've been looking around for something cute and fun and this is what I decided to do!!
Pretty dotting tool flowers! :D
I used three coats of China Glaze Octa Gone wild for the base of the nails, I then used a dotting tool to create the flower shapes using Revlon Lunar and then added a center dot with OPI Rumples Wiggin'.
I'm so pleased with how these turned out, I thought they'd be a horrible splodgy mess but they look very cute :) These are so easy to create with a dotting tool and you can use different colour combinations! I really wanted to use a holo base as the sun has just come out here in the UK so I wanted something flashy :P
I'm also really happy with how my pictures came out. I've never had much success capturing holo polishes with my camera but they came out great today!

Have you tried making flowers with a dotting tool before? what are your favourite holo polishes at the moment? Let me know in the comments :)

Sparkly Purple Nails

Hello everyone :)
Today I have a quick mani post for you :) I asked my boyfriend to pick out a colour for me to paint my nails, he picked purple. I don't really have many purple polishes (around 18) but I recently got China Glaze Octa Gone Wild in a swap so thought I'd use that and do an accent nail. Here's what I did...
I did two coats of China Glaze Octa Gone Wild. I also used three coats of OPI Rumples Wiggin' on my accent nail with one thick coat of Kleancolor Aurora, which is another one of my untrieds.
Here's a shot that's partially in the light but not enough to show the beautiful holo effect of Octa Gone Wild. I love how cute and simple this mani looks without any sunlight and then...
Bammm!! Beautiful super sparkly holo nails in the light, I honestly can't stop staring at
my nails whenever I wear a holographic polish. it surprises me every time :P When I showed my boyfriend what I'd done with his colour of purple he was amazed :P he really loved looking at the holo polish in the sun :P

What do you think to these nails? And holo polish in general? Any favourite holographic polishes of yours, leave in the comments, I need to grow my collection some more :P
Thanks for reading,
Charlotte xxx
